Unfamiliar with the concept? The DOS Medical single-use dermal curette allows you to remove hard skin from the foot with relative ease. Simply stroke the looped blade over the skin and the super-sharp cutting surface on the inner side of the ring allows you to precisely pare away skin with minimal risk of cutting unaffected skin. Excess tissue escapes through the ring, preventing it from clogging up the instrument.
This makes them particularly well suited to removing the hard skin over the surface of a verruca whilst minimising bleeding.
These single-use curettes are individually packed and sterilised by gamma radiation. They can be easily used in both clinic and mobile settings as an alternative to a surgical blade.
The dermal curette has a round end with a very sharp edge on the inside of the loop. This means that the outer smooth surface of the loop glides over the surface of the skin without damaging it whilst the super sharp inner surface scrapes away the layers, one stroke at a time. You can adjust the thickness of the surface to be removed by changing the angle of the curette on the skin.
Some things just feel right. Held like a pen, the curette has a grip that puts you in control. It’s then simply a case of tensioning the skin with fingers to provide a firm surface and stroking the looped blade across the verruca whilst adjusting the angle and pressure to remove the desired amount of tissue. You are always in control, so you can quickly develop the precision to remove exactly what you need to remove and no more.
Clinicians have reported feeling more in control of the procedure with the curette, compared with a standard scalpel.
These single-use dermal curettes are available in 5 different sizes to suit the nature of the debridement. The sizes range from 2.0 to 7.0 mm in diameter. You can choose the right size based on the thickness of the tissue to be treated. The curettes are available in packs of 10 units. Each curette is individually sealed in a peel-apart see-through package.
These dermal curettes are perfect for removing dead skin, especially when used with Verrutop treatment. For more information about the dermal curettes? Please feel free to contact us or request a quote directly.
